Tanzania's future is NOW...
The 50% campaign is an unprecedented effort to spark national awareness of the need for legal reform, juvenile justice and child rights in Tanzania. The campaign objectives are:
(1) To promote juvenile justice services which uphold the best interests of Tanzania's children.
(2) To ensure legal reform such that Tanzania adheres to international standards of child rights and protection.
(3) To facilitate public awareness of appropriate treatment of children and alternatives to abuse.
(4) To promote collaboration between civil society, business and local government in the pursuit of child rights and welfare.
(5) To challenge the stereotypical image of street children and youth.
The 50% campaign is supported by the Arusha Caucus for Children's Rights and a variety of individuals / organisations committed to the protection of vulnerable children and youth. Information about each of the organisations who support the 50% campaign is available at the Partners page.
