Mkombozi's mission is to help children and youth grow in mind, body and spirit and to build a more caring society for all wherein family, neighborhood and community cohesion is built and supported by the rule of law. We act as a catalyst for holistic development.
Mkombozi's vision is a world where all children and youth are prioritised and can access opportunities to become well rounded, inquiring and productive people who are working towards a more just and democratic society. We believe that we can promote social justice through participation and collaboration.
Mkombozi has international presence - in Tanzania, the United Kingdom (UK), and the United States (US).
Mkombozi Tanzania is the heart of the organisation. Offices coordinating all of Mkombozi's programme interventions exist in the Tanzanian towns of Moshi (Kilimanjaro Region) and Arusha (Arusha Region).
Friends of Mkombozi UK and Friends of Mkombozi US are registered charities which exist to facilitate Mkombozi's work in Tanzania by fundraising from individuals, institutions, clubs, businesses and other charities in each respective country. Mkombozi's programmes partly depend on the income and voluntary efforts of these charities to strengthen the organisations reserve funds and thereby filling crutial budget gaps which are not covered by institutional grants. In particular, donors and supporters of Friends of Mkombozi UK and Friends of Mkombozi US play a crucial role in funding Mkombozi's direct services to children (such as clothing, shelter, food, medical care and school support).
